light bounced off of the metal heels of your shoes
almost a little too eagerly, eagerly running towards eyes
that couldn't look into yours
it was as if the world stopped in that moment
that I looked at you, sitting at your desk
in a glassy enclave. I studied the way the wrinkles
in your shirt flowed down, outlining your body.
my eyes that couldn't look into yours.
